Cedar Floor Lamp
Inspired by the construction of a ship's mast, the center column of this floor lamp starts out square, becomes octagonal, and finishes up round at the top. (On old ships the bottom of the masts were left square below decks to make it easier to attach them.) This simple lamp made of Western red cedar is a perfect compliment to your favorite reading chair. The lamp uses a three-way socket with a turnknob making it easy to adjust to the ideal reading level. The parchment shade creates a lovely glow.
