When we made our first set of wine racks for a local liquor store, we considered them strictly commercial and a little on the homely side. With the insight of another customer, however, we realized that within the pine and 2x4 frame of our ugly duckling beat the heart of a solid cherry swan.

The display rack became a flat tabletop. The rows of bottleholders received chamfered edges. The whole assembly was redesigned with screws to make shipping practical and assembly simple. And, of course, ordinary pine became beautiful cherry.
